SILVIA SALVAGNO is a nomad visual artist. She has lived in many countries worldwide since leaving her home in Argentina over 20 years ago. This transformative journey has deeply influenced her artistic language.
She works with oils and watercolors, exploring the topics of ephemerality, impermanence, and fragility of life.
She studied Painting and Art History at Belgium’s École des Arts de Braine L’Alleud and trained with Master Manuel DeRugama in Mexico. Her work has been exhibited internationally and can be found in collections in the USA, Mexico, Switzerland, Argentina, Belgium, Italy, UK, Australia, among others.
She is a member and Laureate of the prestigious Academy of Arts-Science-Lettres de Paris.
“Life and time are constantly changing and escaping our grasp. In my paintings, I try to capture this never-ending transformation and the reflective processes associated with it.
I use several thin layers of paint to create pieces that tread the line between abstraction and figuration. Empty spaces play a fundamental role in my compositions.
My palette is subtle, and I apply delicate brushstrokes to obtain smooth, diffused, serene images.
My work is an invitation to pause, reflect, and abandon oneself to a path of discovery into the beauty and peace of what is simple, fragile, and ephemeral: our journey through life.”
